I’m not a fan of red velvet cake. At all.
I’m not a fan of (fancy) cupcakes. At all. Except the ones we get in local bakeries which are sponge cakes in the guise of cupcakes.
But (of course, there is a but….) today, i fell in love with red velvet mini-cupcakes from Glen’s Bakehouse. They’re so, so, soooo good. You can gobble them up one at a time or take a nibble of the cupcake if you want the tiny scarlet goodness to last longer. Nevertheless, they will vanish. Fast.
The creamy vanilla frosting has just the right amount of the sweetness-saltiness (I find the saltiness of most red velvets overbearing).
The next time you’re in the mood for a cupcake and some coffee to go with it, head to Glen’s Bakehouse (even if you’re tempted to scamper into Toit next door) in Indiranagar, Bangalore.
Price per mini-cupcake: Rs. 15/-
Glen’s Bakehouse is a charming bungalow-turned-café that offers a variety of food and drink (non-alcoholic). The ambience is tasteful and inviting with the brick walls and lampshades and rustic wooden furniture.
I have loved most of the food i’ve had at Glen’s. But i will talk about it some other day.
For now, i will go chomp on yet another cupcake.
