Doors

Doors are secret keepers.

They’re all that separate your world from another’s, apart from a wall and windows.

Wide open, slammed shut, left ajar… they tell you stories. No. You imagine stories of the people and things that go in and out that door.

Doors have characters that, to us, reflect the characteristics of the people behind them.

Ornate equals ostentatious.

Stained equals filthy.

Stark equals stingy.

Elegant equals sophisticated.

Plastic and metal equals cheap.

Maybe. Maybe not.

The more you try to analyze what’s behind that door, the sooner will the locks and bolts be fastened inside.

And all you’ll be left with is yourself, the door, the stories that you imagine and the secrets locked safely.

Behind closed doors.
